EXPERIENCE AND TREATMENT
As a passionate mental health therapist with 30 years of experience, I specialize in guiding individuals through the often challenging terrain of trauma. My approach is grounded in empathy, a touch of humor, and a belief in the inherent strengths of every individual. Healing can be serious work, but I also believe that laughter can be a powerful ally on this journey.
I hold a masters degree in clinical social work and have extensive training in trauma-informed care and various therapeutic modalities, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My strength-based approach focuses on identifying and amplifying your unique abilities and resilience. Together, we'll uncover the tools you already possess to navigate your path to healing.
AREAS OF FOCUS
I genuinely enjoy working with a diverse range of individuals, specializing in adults facing a variety of challenges. Whether you’re brand new to therapy or an experienced therapist yourself, I welcome the opportunity to collaborate. I am here for anyone seeking support, whether it’s to address a life transition, grief or loss, relationship stress, neurodivergent challenges, or any other concern. My experience extends to working with healthcare professionals, law enforcement, first responders, and military personnel, where I apply my specialized training to address the unique challenges faced in these high-stress professions.
PERSONAL INTERESTS
Outside of the therapy room, I am an advocate for physical activity and lifelong learning. I recently taught myself how to ice skate, and I absolutely love playing racquetball—especially when we throw the rules out the window and just have fun! I cherish spending time with my family and enjoy taking my hyperactive dog for long walks, where we both can explore and enjoy the great outdoors.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In our sessions, I prioritize creating a safe and welcoming environment where you can express yourself freely. Expect a blend of heartfelt conversations and moments of levity as we explore your experiences together. I believe that acknowledging the lighter side of life can provide relief and perspective, making the healing process more manageable.
NEXT STEPS
If you're ready to embark on a journey of healing that celebrates your strengths while embracing a bit of humor along the way, I invite you to reach out with any questions via email, call or text.
